    Hi guys,

Recently installed Firefox on my work laptop (Windows XP), and later found out alot of my work applications won't function with it. Thus, I am unable to enter timesheets, etc.

Problem is, it's set as my default browser, so I can't get into alot of things. How do I change my default browser?

I know it's a really cack question and makes me sound like a technological retard, but it's not as easy as it sounds!

I've tried to remove Mozilla as well, and the whole thing just freezes when I try.

I have checked this on Win98 but should be similar in WinXp

Click Start ---> Settings --> Control Panel ---> Internet Options

Under the Programs Tab there is a small check box which you can click.
This box says "Internet Explorer should check to see if it the default browser".

Click this box so that it is checked, click OK and Start Internet Explorer.

Now IE is your default browser, and any .HTML or .HTM files will open via IE rather than Mozilla FF.

    Hope this helps !

Couple of things - get the latest firefox and most things work. I just installed the latest last week and it is pretty tight. Otherwise just re-install the latest version of IE. That will set it as the default browser.
    Otherwise

I've tried that Internet Options > Programs solution before, but the check box is greyed out. I probably should have mentioned that in my OP.

Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Set Program Access and Defaults -> Expand the Custom configuration -> Select Internet Explorer -> Ok

P.S Dont worry about asking "stupid questions" they make me feel smart.:)
