I used to play years ago and only getting back into it now. There was a shop in dublin i used to order my rackets from as they where the cheapest in Ireland for the top of range carlton rackets. Anyone know the name of a shop in dublin that specialised in racket sports esp badminton?

Anyone have any recommendations for online shops?

    thanks

Just started Badminton myself and I have a racket straight from the 80's so those of you that may play probably know how heavy it is. so I was wondering what are the best light weight rackets out there at the moment price isn't the issue. I just want to get a feel for some names.

Any good sports shop will have them. I bought one in JJB in Derry a couple of years ago.

I've been in lifestyle sports and elvery sports in Waterford but they didn't have them and I'd have to order them specially. But there's two other shop in Waterford I haven't been in yet.

got a wilson racket in Alfie Hale sports. I can't get over how much lighter it is compared to the racket I was using.

Edit: Did you try Milletsports.co.uk They have offers on at the moment and have any amount of sports equipment and brand names.

    Hey all,

ok, don't know where ye are all living but do any of ye know Baldoyle Badminton Center? (One of the main badminton halls in Ireland) There is a small sho there. Sells only badminton stuff. Mianly carlton and yonex I think to be honest but decent selection and if u have a certain racquet in mind, it can easily be ordered in for u. They do runners, grips, t-shirts etc too, so everything u need really! :D

Martyn Evans has a similar shop in Terenure Badminton Venter, on Whitehall road. I don't know tbh but don't think the selection is as good as baldoyle, but can't really comment...

Both these shops also so racquet restrings.... Always handy to know ;)

Btw, I have looked in many sports shops, lifestyle, elverys etc but never found their racquets very good, I'd always buy from the specialist shop in Baldoyle. Better selection. Although, that all depends on what standard you are playing. If you are only beginning to play, there is VERY LITTLE point in spending €150 on a racquet! (Personally I find the Carlton racquets suit me best, but that really is personal preference, my partner will only play with a yonex!!!)
