Well I've got two questions about Koh Phangan

First off we arrived here yesterday at Haad Rin near to where the full moon party is held and we got nice accomodation but since we're close to the beach we've been told previously that we may get robbed???

Also all month I've been bother by these guys about buying suits up and down Thailand and I'm just wondering have any of you ever got some here, are they good quality or do they smell different and are crap? And if anyone has got them in Haad Rin or Koh Phangan, where did they get them if they were good and how much should you pay for a suit?

Hi there - I spent 5 nights in Koh Phangan (Haad Rin) and didn't have any hassle at all... Just be sensible with your stuff and you'll be fine..

Don't know anything about suits - I didn't bother with them......

I've never had any problems there. Alot of the accomodations have safes, if you have anything valuable just throw it in there.

As for suits, no idea. I know my friend had a few tailor made in Singapore but it usually took a few weeks. He had to go back a few times for measurements and fitting.

I wouldn't go near the tailors in Koh Phangnan, they're most likely amatures for the tourist market. You'll get badly made clothing and be ripped off for it too. Don't get talked into it unless you get a personal recommendation.

Hi, not sure about being mugged but a friend told me his friend was actually kidnapped, i dont no weather to belive that!! I was there and had no problem. I got a suit made on the silom road district of Bangkok, it took 2 days, the inital measure, first fitting, second fitting and then I collected it. They kept your measurements for 5 years so you can e-mail them and they will deliver another suit. I got 2 pants, 1 jacket, 3 shirts, 3 ties, all tailor made (bar the ties) for 135 US dollars, I think that is good but I am a bad judge as I never bough one before, I saw tailor made suits for sale off koa san road for 75 dollars,I doubt they would be too good. Thats my 2 cent anyway.
