A mate asked me to post a Q...He has a projector I don't have the model number but it is a few years old, he bought it 2nd hand about a month ago.

Anyway, the picture has gone blurry, he discribes it as a colour distortion, like watching a 3-d film without the glasses.

Is this the bulb????, he said he tried the settings, and opened it up to see if there was a reset button, but to no avail.

    Any help please.

What kind of projector is it? Is it the old type with 3 separate "mini-projectors" on the front for red green and blue? If so they have to be adjusted and focussed on whatever surface they're being used on... As for LCD projectors, sounds like something's come loose in the optics. Don't think it's something you're likely to be able to fix at home, but with the price of a new one it would probably be worth getting fixed. The bulb shouldn't cause this kind of distortion - once it's working at all it's usually fine.

    http://www.projectorcentral.com/Panasonic-PT-L595U.htm

is an lcd with three seperate lcds for the three colours, maybe these are out of alignment, or some part of the optics or filters are distorted. probably not worth paying to repair a projector of this age/spec

don't see any setting in the manual that would help either
