    Hey,

Does anyone know if you can do Apple Certified Training to repair machines anywhere in Dublin?

    Thanks!

as far as I am aware you have to be working with an authorised apple service partner and then do the exams with them. You become an authorised technician while the company holds the service partner status

And along with that there are numerous hoops and jumps to get through for the company to become an authorised partner which allows you access to the service manuals and spare parts ordering service

you can do the exams by yourself (about €300 i think) - the nearest testing centre is the UK. I have looked into this before and even asked about it here.

I was just about to ask this question.

How useful really would Apple Certification be in this country? I don't know of any companies here that use Apple computers so I doubt there would be much work for fixing/networking outside of working for Mactivate or the like.

For the OP, there is a company coming over to Dublin in October I think that are providing Apple certified training - it's on the Apple news site. Costs are around £1000 though!

Well, I'm a techie for a company that exclusively uses Apple Hardware, so I figured instead of throwing money at mactivate, I just get the certification and not screw the warranty every time I look sideways at a machine!

http://certifications.apple.com - I think you can do the exams thru a Prometric testing site.
