I haven't heard if I've been accepted for a masters and its been eight weeks since the closing date. The website says I can expect a reply within six weeks, but this obviously isn't the case. is this a common occurrence, and when can I expect to find out if I have a place for next year? Is this the normal standard of NUIG's processing and professional standards in general?

Yea, they tend to be pretty appalling

I went through that myself and took my second choice masters, ended up leaving it to start another the following September waste of a year in reality, but no matter.

In your case though you have time now to decide properly my advise would be dont rush into a course just to do one; look for what career you want first and work back!

Sorry to hear you didn't get the place.

Did you apply to the central Postgrad application thing or directly to NUIG. If you applied to Postgrad application office then it's no good giving out to NUIG but if you did apply to NUIG then get on the phone to them. They can be awful lazy and need a kick up the hole to get going every now and again.

I had to plague them last year to get them to do anything.
