    Right,

I have been seeing this girl for a few months. We met through friends and whenever we all went out we ended up dancing and kissing for the whole night we didn't swap numbers or anything I guess I played hard to get at first, so eventually we swapped numbers, went to the cinema a few times, brought her out for dinner the usual stuff and there was a couple of good nights and good mornings if you know what I mean. Now what i'm wondering is does she even want a relationship, the last month or so I seem to be the only one who starts txting, arranging to meet up and go out ... i.e she doesn't seem to initiate anything. I'm 23 and I haven't been sleeping with or seeing anyone else during all this (the opportunity has come up) and i'm wondering do people at my age ask the opposite sex do they want to commit or do they just go with the flow. Because at the moment i'm committed but not too sure if she is?

Jeez reading over this it seems so silly.

Apparently you have to yeah.... ive asked alot of ppl this and in my own experience aswell its up to one of you's to just ask straight out what the story is.... As for her not initiating anything....im not sure. I can be a bit like that at times...waiting for the bloke to do it all....i used to be worse though i wouldnt really do it now. I dont think it means she's not interested though or doesnt want anything serious and really the only way you're gonna put your mind at rest is to ask...

If it's not clear to you then just up and ask her what the story is ! If you want to comit then say so and put the ball in her court ! If she doesn't want to get serious then you know where you stand and can act accordingly !

ya i agree. asking straight out is the way to go. in my experience it's when people start trying to interpreting everything and asking no direct questions that things start getting all messed up!

Bah I should have continued the hard to get card :) it sucks liking a girl this much, thing is I had no interest at first. Guess I'll bring it up casually in a non serious way. Sure the worst that can happen is i'm free to "play the field" again.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I would have thought at this stage if things are going well you'd just assume that you were both in a "relationship":p

I haven't been in a situation where someone has had to ask the question since I was about 17!! Usually you just go with the flow don't you?

As for her not initiating contact, a lot of girls are paranoid about the guy thinking they are being pushy or clingy. From personal experience a lot of guys don't like being pursued by a girl, they prefer the hard to get type so maybe that's what's going through her head.

Then again I suppose if you really want to be sure you should just go ahead and ask....

Hence why my first post sounded so silly when I read it back.'

Just ask her, but don't be too heavy with her. Or on your next date, just say "so when will we meet up again?", If she says, "oh next week or whatever", just say, "great, give me a call when you decide what day..."
