Appears these guys have hiked their prices massively in the past while. Put in an enquiry about a custom job, nothing too mental or anything, high-spec, but that's what custom shops are for, and might even have ordered from them. If he'd quoted me in or around the 1200 or so Fey paid for his, I'd have strongly considered throwing them a deposit, but it was ridiculous. I'll copy/paste the e-mail so people get the specs and the cost.

    Dear David,
the RR guitar in your specification will cost 1780 euros.

    Best regards
    Dariusz Kuczynski

Most of two grand there, two grand by the time it gets to me, doubtless, factoring in shipping and a flight case. I enquired about a far more complicated beastie about a year ago and it was nothing like that. Was 1450 or thereabouts methinks. Just like to see what people think, but personally, I think that's too much to pay. Kudos Fey for nabbing yours when it was a respectable price.

In fairness, it doesn't look like they have hiked the prices. The quilted top, OFR, locking Sprezels, strap locks and see thru paint would could easily add up to the 500 that he's quoting.

I enquired about a custom last year though, higher specs and everything, and it was a few hundred quid less. I think they must have hiked them somewhat,

In fairness, they probably have. They're much more popular nowadays.

He got a lot more international customers and figured he could charge more. I've talk to some Polish guys on other forums who are pretty pissed off, as he priced himself out of the Polish market.

That said, I think he does some stellar work:

    Ran1
    Ran2

Edit: Pics are a bit on the huge side. ;)
