    Hello everyone.....!!!

Ok, need some help/advice on upgrading my bass rig.

I have narrowed it down to the following

    Head: http://ampeg.com/products/pro/svt4pro/index.html
    Cab 1: http://ampeg.com/products/b/bxt210m/index.html
    Cab 2: http://ampeg.com/products/b/bxt115hl4/index.html

    Yes its all Ampeg.

Ok, I play in a covers band that does soul/funk and the odd cheese when needed. I am using this

    Head: http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.asp?section=abm&ID=6
    Cab1: http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.asp?ID=13
    Cab 2: http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.asp?section=abm&ID=12

I have the Ashdown rig just over a year and the riggers of the road have taken its toll. Inputs on the cab has fallen off, its farts like mad if your doing a long gig at hi levels. The eq is useless and does never seem to give you what you want and over all its just carp. Its handy having the 2 cabs to give me the options at different gigs. The tube.... lets not go there

    My issue are,

Most gigs I am on top of my rig with very little room due to the other band members. So an angled cab like the ampeg 2*10 in monitor mode looks like an great option. Pointing the cab towards me head! As the 15" sound is not needed to be a directional so that can just be put to the side with the head on top...Thus the rig would look like a 8*10 on its side. Or all nice neatly stack up right.

Effects wise I use the Dunlop cry baby and maybe some chorus and thats all. I play a EBMM Stingray 4 string.

We did upgrade our PA and weight was an issue we over came by picking JBL's light weight stuff. These Ampeg cabs are by no means light, but the head is giving good power:weight:options so out of the entire ampeg range it just seems to suits me and going forward its not going to be left behind if another upgrade is needed/more cabs added etc. The cabs themselves seem very well built and look like good touring grade cabs, which is what I need. Everything tends to be lumped into the back of a van. The Cabs have metal grills and cover corners and wheels! THey all be getting flight cases, but I dont think even that would have helped the Ashdown.

The whole rig together is giving out 980w RMS @ 4ohms which is to me tons. The cabs are nicely matched up too. I have heard that Ampeg ten to be kind to the power ratings but I am sure everyone does the same

So, does anyone use these ampeg products?
What level are you using them at? Live/studio etc
    Have they lasted?
Is there any other config that might be better bearing in mind all of the above?
What style of music are you using them for?

    Thanks for reading,

You should have a look at small EBS and MarkBass heads and cabs. Lots of power and no work carrying it round. I use a 1x10 EBS Neo. Two of those could do any gig. Only weighs 11kgs.
