Lahinch is a great spot to base yourself if you want to explore the cliffs and the surrounding areas for a few days. It is a very small town though.

You can also stay in Galway city which is a great town and get the tour bus from there

Stay in galway and the tour bus from there would be my advice as all the transporation is taken care of.

Yeah Galway is nice, and the bus tour is cool!
They do a few from there and are worth taking.

Liscannor is the closest town, there is a nice new hotel there called the' cliffs of moher hotel', and a few good pubs there too. Its about 3 miles from the Cliffs. Doolin would be another option.

Well if your going for a city like galway, its just as easy to stay in Limerick city as there are just as many buses to the cliffs, plus a wide choice of hotels

But personally id stay away from both cities and go to lahinch. or maybe try that hotel finbarrk is on about in liscannor

Yeah, stay one night in Doolin. Nice little village which is walking distance from Moher (if you like walking) map
