    Hi,
Im looking for anywhere that sells a good value, cheap enough bike.

I know Dunnes were doing some a while back for ~€90 that were decent enough. That would do me grand but i dont think they're sellin them anymore.

Any know of anywhere i could get a nice one?

    Tallaght/Templeogue area preferable.

    thanks.

I would be wary of buying a bike like that from Dunnes/Aldi etc. If you are just going to use it to pop to the shops for a carton of milk then its fine, but if you want to use it for commuting you may find that it starts to wear out pretty quick, plus it will be heavy and hard to cycle.

If you spend a little extra you will be able to get better new bike or a good second hand.

    thanks lads.
I was lookin around today also.
Found a nice enough one in Tallaght Village in the Cycle Inn. Called a Giant Rock. Anyone know if its any good? bout 250 for it.

Giant would be a good make and better than anything you would pick up in Dunnes/Aldi/Smyths etc. And the Cycle Inn is a good bike shop too, so if you have any problems they are likely to help you out.

You may get better opinions on that particular model in the sports->cycling forum!

Edit: Yes, Joe Daly's is also another good bike shop if you live nearby.

Go to Joe Daly in Dundrum. Local, very knowledgeable and offers some great value.

That is an alright price, it is €215 delivered online but you would have to assemble. Also a bike shop should throw in a free service during the first year, and at least a discount on bits n bobs when buying.

The rock looks OK, I had a simlar low end giant MTB. I would sooner get a hybrid though.

Giant are a fine brand, think they are the biggest bike manufacturer in the world. They do all high end bikes but would not release crap cheaper ones like aldi/dunnes etc.

At €250 I would only go second hand, a good deal will last far longer than any new bike costing €250.
