    Hi,

Im trying to order kit from rsov. When I try confirm the order, Paypal says 'This payment cannot be funded with a credit card at this time'. Ive emailed Paypal but no response. I setup a paypal account last night and ordered 3 items from Ehobby. I then tried a 4th transaction with RSOV. Paypal said if I pay 1.50euro, I can put through more orders. I checked Paypal and this has been Verified

    5 Transactions Remaining *

Has anyone had this issue before?

That pay 1.50 thingy is only if you want to spend more than €1500 I think, so it shouldnt be that unless you're ordering a serious amount of kit.

Is there not also some sort of thing
where paypal charge your account by €1.50
to verify your address and then credit it to
your account a few days later?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭Loobz

    Ahh..
The order comes to about 180 euro. JEBUS STRIKE ME DOWN! Been tryin to order my damn sharpshooter for 3 days. Paypal says NO!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,612 ✭✭✭bullets

The 1.50 thing Paypal charges your credit card or bank account
and (when I did it) refunds you once you activate or verify your
paypal account. Usually a special number appears on your bank statement
or credit card statement that you use to verify your account.
The RSOV place ""might"" only accept payment from verified paypal accounts.
although you should be able to sent small amounts of cash without any issues.

If its a general paypal issue I can say I used it today without issue.

Thanks for help lads, would like this sorted soon cos im about to implode all over my new boots. :(
Does RSOV/Keith accept payment straight from my credit card (i.e circumnavigate Paypal)?

Never used RSOV before but I plan to in the future to get
red dot sites etc. (if the local eirsoft.ie gets more stock will give them
    first preference)

    Was dealing with http://www.airsoft-direct.co.uk/
The last day or so getting Gas and a GBB pistol and they
have been very good. Some Lad called Mark contacting
me letting me know about shipping and Customs and
being in general very helpful with organizine the most
cost effective way of getting me my goods.
(They take both CC and paypal)

As I mentioned in the future I am gonna give Shiva at
eirsoft.ie all the business I can since he is Irish Based and ship things
at a mega price and post within Ireland.

Have you added your credit card to your PayPal account. You need to do this so that PayPal can use it. You cant just put in your credit card in every time you want to buy something with PayPal they need your credit card registered on your account as a source of funds.

I have used PayPal along with 3V and RSOV for some time now and have never had any issues. My address is not verified through PayPal but every time I get a 3V voucher I get a different credit card number so I have to keep changing it.

Edit: No he only accept's through PayPal. Will not accept a credit card directly.

Im using the same combination. I emailed Keith so fingers crossed.

If you are using 3V and have a few regestered on your PayPal, you have to make the one with the money on it to cover the sale the main card. I ended up with three on mine at one stage and could not understand why I couldnt place my order. Found out that the 3V Visa number I was using was empty and I hadnt made my new one the main card. So I deleted the old ones as they were empty any way.

I only use and own a 3v card and have one paypal account registered with said 3v card... with funds to back that up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 211 ✭✭Hagakure_irl

Had the same problem last week. I use 3Vs as well, i simply payed the 1.50, then check your transaction history, the code you need to verify are the numbers before the words PAYPAL. However if you do this just read the note about where it is located just to make sure.

Once i did verify my 3V worked. ( Btw i couldn't use my Paypal for a few sites, ebay, irish army surplus site).

There is a limit that Shiva mentioned, maybe its 500 euro though instead of 1500...cause i've spent about 500 and then got the problem. But once i verified i had no problems :)

I did this already, I think. It says 'Verified' on the main page. However, Ive just tried again and it says 'Before you may enroll in the Expanded Use Program, you must add a credit card'.
I add the necessary details and clicked 'Add card'
When I click this it says 'This credit card is already registered in your PayPal account. Use "Update" button if you want to update existing credit card information'. However I cant see the Update button.

Ive just checked this in my profile and my 3v card is added as a primary card. The Update button is there but thats only used if any of that cards details have changed. Im thinking of removing it and adding it again. However theres one small payment that hasnt been taken for from ehobby. Will wait till they accept that payment first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 969 ✭✭✭MaxForce

Might be an idea. If it works for EHobby it should work for RSOV. Hope it works out for you. Have emailed Keith to see if he can downgrade a sniper for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭Fallschirmjager

one other thing it might be is the CC company rejecting the order. CC companies watch for a lot of web transactions, it happened me where i ordered 3 or 4 things and the CC company thought it was peculiar transactions and locked the card.

when i rang the CC company and explained they said it was an auto block on cards if you have quick web transactions because apparently when a cc card is swiped, this is what happens. all they would see is orders in hong kong...ring your cc company and check...

the 1.50 is also for expanded use number.you get it on your next creditd card bill.also its for registering your card

Darn hoped that would work, hmm strange though, to be honest if it works for ebay then maybe the problem is on Rsovs end?

Or yea wait till the payment clears with ebay, remove and add again, hehe sounds silly but it might work. Let us know how you get on

I haven't been able to use Ebay for nearly a year now.

eBay emailed me to tell me that my account had been compromised. They revoked my password and security questions etc. Now, whenever I reset the password, I can log into eBay, but as soon as I try to buy anything, it revokes the password again. eBay are refusing to help because I can't prove who I am (since they wiped the security questions etc). The last time I spoke with them, they suggested that I was the person who compromised the account (accused me of being a hacker!)

eBay support sucks, so be thankful it's a paypal problem and not an eBay problem. At least there is some chance of the issue being fixed for you.

    eBay support sucks

Totally agree with you there. When the site works it's great. When you have a problem it's a completely different matter.

Off topic but I feel like a rant.

I won 4 auctions from the same seller. (All comics) the postage was from the UK, so it should have been 4-5 pounds sterling. (And that's being generous on my behalf). He refused to combine postage, wanting 3 sterling on each comic. As if he was posting them all separately. Coming to a total of 12 stearling. (Which is the guts of 20 euro) to post 4 comics.

After a long drawn out dispute, ebay saw he was in the right and warned me not to bid on auctions without paying again. Even when it was obvious he was trying to make money from postage costs. They put four strikes against my account. I went a bit mad and they were withdrawn.

But anyway, that was my only really bad experience with ebay in 150 transactions. So they ain't all bad :D

    eBay support sucks,

If you keep signing up using the same email address it could be this that is blocked. Or it could be your IP address if it is static. Try signing up from someone elses computer and maybe use a different email address to get your confirmation email through to. Once you have that then it should be happy days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭Loobz

    Just an update lads.

    1) Got email from Paypal. They said they have resolved the issue with my account and to try again. Exact same problem.

    2) No email back from Keith.

I'm already signed up for eBay (with a good rating), I just can't use the account. I can reset the password, and log in. The account just gets disabled again as soon as I try to buy anything. It's like my account is constantly being flagged as compromised.

Thats crazy. They must have some way of verifying who you are. Send a letter to your registered address or somthing. A while ago I was getting strange emails from what seemed like other ebay users asking why I had not answered thier questions as regarding a product I was selling. Problem was I wasnt selling any product. I discovered that a link they were trying to forward me to to inout my ebay ID was actualy in South America. I sent an email to EBay about it and they just said to be careful and not give out my details. The phony website looked exactly like an EBay website as well.

Is there any chance you're sending it to the wrong paypal address ?

Keith recently changed a lot of his business setup, and I know he can accept payments using paypal@hk-knd.com

I havent ordered anything from him lately, but is there any chance you're using the old sales@rsov.com and its been disabled ?

Im not trying to manually tranfer pament using Paypal to RSOV. Im simply adding items to my cart, checking out, verifying my delivery details etc and clicking Confirm Order.. Paypal loads automatically asking for my login, then bounces back saying 'This payment cannot be funded with a credit card at this time'.

I havejust tried again. Paypal have replied saying:

I am very sorry but To ensure the integrity of our network,
PayPal may take security measures which may affect some accounts in
    good
standing. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

PayPal employs complex statistical models to identify patterns of
behaviour. This is similar to the way banks and credit card companies
identify patterns of behaviour that are out of the ordinary when
approving individual transactions. When our system does not allow a
certain funding source for a transaction, it is merely an indication
that the individual transaction fits a pattern we have observed in the
past to have a high risk of failure.

    Please note:

    · If your transaction has been refused, you may still be able to
perform the transaction by using your PayPal account balance or another
    credit card.

It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing PayPal.

I dont have another credit card. It takes up to 28 days for 3v to refund me by cheque. Could keith request money from my paypal or something? No reply from Keith yet either. I understand he is a busy man.

If your credit card details are stolen online, and suddenly someone tries to buy a very expensive item somewhere in China (or anywhere outside your usual buying territory), your credit card company will get onto you as it's not your usual behavior.

Happened to my aunt. Her bank rang her up saying someone was trying to withdraw a large amount of money from somewhere in America.

Maybe that's it? China is outside your usual 'pattern' and they think it could be fraudulant behavior?

Sounds like it from the message you got back from paypal.

    Could be right there Oisin.

I have only used this 3v card for 3 ehobby transactions only. Personally I think thats not enough transactions to say if I try buy something elsewhere that its not like the usual transactions I make regularly. Ive never used Paypal before either, just for the ehobby transactions. But maybe its Paypal being over-sensitive.

Oh you're using 3v! Sorry, I thought you were using a credit card.

    That's very strange. I'm stumped.

Hey Loobz. Did you log onto 3V and check your voucher balance. It might give a reason there why it is been rejected. Is there any chance someone might have gotten hold of your 3V voucher details and cleaned out your remaining balance. Just a thought.

Firstly, thanks so far to all for giving suggestions and help in my time of need!;) Thanks for stickin with me on this. Tbh, I think theres not much I can do with this. Its weird cos I got an email a few days ago when I reported this to Paypal. They said the problem has been rectified, suggesting there was an actual issue on their end. But the problem still persists and they replied with the above. Heres hoping Keith will reply to me at some stage. I hear he's a helpful lad.
Hey Loobz. Did you log onto 3V and check your voucher balance.
I have enough and change to make the payment. No sign of any attempted or failed transactions with RSOV or anybody else. Will wait for Keith. In the mean time, if you guys hear of anyone having the same issue, let me know.

    Thanks again.

    Rata tat tat ...(tat).

I had the same problem when trying to order off uncompany a few weeks ago. After a week of trying to sort it out I just gave up. Thankfully some friends were making an order so I juts gave them the cash and piggybacked on their order.

Its just a mere fleshwound. And rubbing salt into it aint doin' no good know how neither.

I would recommend to try another method of payment.
Ive given up. Ive emailed Shiva to see if he can get me the same kit. Hope he can for 2 reasons.

    1) I want to give him support. Its nice to see some home grown airsoft retailing.

    2) Paypal says No.
