"Dublin" prices

Been looking around for prices on getting a new clutch into a Triumph Stag. I have all the workshop manuals and it's very straightforward - but given the weather we've been having, I think I'd rather pay someone to do it rather than be stuck under a car with muck dripping in my face.

    - unbolt propshaft from gearbox
    - unbolt gearstick
    - unbolt slave cyl from gearbox
    - remove hoses between engine & rad & heater (to give room for engine to tilt)
    - unbolt gearbox from engine
    - remove gearbox

Those in the know say it's a four-hour DIY driveway job, or up to 8 hours if you stop for a good lunch.

Here are the prices I got upon ringing around just for the labour, I supply the parts:

local mechanic in Belfast: 3 hours, STG £120
classic specialist in Antrim: 3 hours, STG £160
Triumph specialist, Leicester, England: 2.5 hours, STG £110 +/-

local mechanic, Clonee, 3 to 4 hours, EUR250 to EUR300
local mechanic, Galway, 3 to 5 hours, EUR200
Triumph specialist, Deansgrange, 16 hours, EUR1,000 (requires engine and gearbox to be removed)

WTF is it with "Dublin prices"- I was speechless - genuinely shocked

I don't see anything unusual about Dublin prices. The hourly rate looks comparable across the board ;)

I do see something wrong with Dublin job times though...

    ....and I thought I was slow! :p

Ask the Triumph classic owners club,
    http://triumphsireland.com

The club has several Stag owners, ask who they use.
They meet the last Sunday of the Month 12:30 O'Sheas in Clonskeagh.

They're always very helpful, I've been too busy to be involved the last few years. Both my Triumphs are off the road (1300 & Spitfire)
They're on my very long to do list. :-(
