Poker Shops In New York

    I am heading over to New York in a few days and was wondering does anyone no any good poker shops where i can pick up some decent cards and chips?

    With the excess weight charges by airlines it may be more hassle than its worth and basically prices here are similar to USA - all cards on giftmaster are priced exactly as per most US online stores. (VAT & about 5% tranatlantic shipping charge being the only additions) But if you do want to check out US stores, most poker product is sold in department stores rather than specialist strores, so try Macy's, Neilman Marcus & the like.

    And - do the maths on anything you do decide to buy - e.g. a 500 chip set with 11.5g chips is gonna weigh close to 6kg before you factor in the case, packaging cards etc. It you're looking for something unusual it might be worth your while, but don't end up having to pay twice because of an airline.
