Can anyone recommend anything to clean the screen, cant seem to wip the smudges off with just a dry cloth?

Use a screwdriver to scrape off any tough marks and then use the cloth.

The link above shows how to clean a screen using household products. I've never used it myself but bookmarked it yonks ago with good intentions.

Nice one. I'll yoink that second tip of yours. My old laptop screen is covered in tar from my cigarette smoke. Didn't realise until I got the new laptop.
