Ireland's First 24-Hour Gym

The Fitness Dock is proud to announce the opening of Ireland’s first 24 Hour Gym. Located on Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, the gym will switch to being 24-hour on September 3, 2007.

While this is the first 24-hour gym in Ireland, it is a growing trend worldwide. The world's largest gym group, US-based 24hr Fitness, has proved the popularity of all-hours workouts with over 300 gyms and 2.7m members worldwide. In England, cities such as London, Manchester, Glasgow and Nottingham all have 24-hour gyms.

We have many members whose work hours make it difficult to access the gym during conventional opening hours. Plus, if you fancy working out super-early (like many in the States do), then you exercise at a gym when you've got the whole gym to yourself.

Pop in for a free workout whenever it suits you.

    Cheers,

    PAUL

We also plan to host a number of Self-Defence seminars at the gym, as well as introducing a few martial arts classes as well. We already run very popular Mixed Martial Arts classes.

Really? Who teaches Mixed Martial Arts there?

Really? I didn't know there was an MMA gym on Camden Street.

This isn't the same place as pinnacle gym is it??
They suppose to be running MMA classes on Camden Street also?

We're a different gym from Pinnacle.

Our Mixed Martial Arts classes are taught by Brendan Swan, who has more than 20 year's experience in martial arts. He's a Black Belt in both kickboxing and taekwondo. He focuses on teaching striking whereas our other instructor Keith Ward teaches things like throws and ground-fighting.

Our classes are aimed at the general public, rather than the hardcore MMA practitioner that Pinnacle targets. That's why we're keen to start many weekend self-defence seminars, which will believe will appeal to males and females who have no previous background in MMA.

I'll keep you updated regarding the seminars we'll be hosting and look forward to meeting you at them.

In the meantime, pop over to The Fitness Dock for a complimentary workout any time you like. Just ask for me when you arrive at the reception desk.

    Cheers,

    PAUL

Has anyone heard of Keith Ward in terms of throws and groundfighting?

Yes, what qualifications has Keith Ward?

    Fitness Dock,

If your classes are aimed at the general public, advertise in the Herald.

A lot of people advertise their services on this forum, but they also add a lot of content / value, when you follow suit, you may get a better hearing.

    PAUL

Is he qualified in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ?

I hate that whole hardcore versus general fitness/martial arts thing.

The two differ in intensity not method.

Fitness Dock is another one of these big box gyms that get you in on 3 sets of 8-10 reps and take your money for what boils down to an attractive keyring.

paul is trying to get free advertising off boards and is always doing this on the fitness boards too-this should not be allowed imo.

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

Whats wrong with that? I personally love the 3 set 8-10 rep range, its the staple workout ratio of the modern athlete! :p

Wonder does Fitness Dock have these?

    Doubt it.

I can't see what the problem is, unless you've a problem with it not being directly related to MA. People advertise services here all the time.

I fell off my chair when i read this

I often play poker on Camden street and would be very interested in finding a punch bag afetr some bad beats on the table. Where exactly are you Fitness Dock? Also do you provide other services, a rub and a tug perhaps?

On a more serious note: how much does membership cost?

I have no real issue with Paul posting as he does in my forum, sure he promotes his place but he always gives solid advice in his posting and does try and help people over on Fitness.

It's not like he is trolling, or even shilling.....he just let people know his place was open 24 hours, it's up to the public to pass judgement on whether it is a place worth going to for them.

That's just my view on it.

i'd concur with dragan on this.

Fitness dock is beside/above the spar on camden street almost directly opposite the Camden Deluxe Hotel (the palace night club).

Cool..right beside the poker room so

What about the rub and tug

I have no problem with Paul advertising his club, when someone comes on asking a general question about MAs, it gives people free reign to advertise their own club, and being a 24hr gym with Martial Arts could be interesting for posters on this board.
However I'm still waiting for him to explain who Keith Ward is and his credentials in teaching throws and ground fighting....
