Full info here The speculation is that it will allow TomTom to deliver real-time updates to it sets. TeleAtlas will still sell it's maps to third parties.

This is very bad news for anyone in Ireland with a TomTom as there is no hope of getting any decent map updates now. I recently purchased a Tom Tom One Europe with the last version of the Navteq maps and I feel more than a bit cheated.
