xbox 360 live on o2 broadband

    having a bitch of a time setting up my xbox live after getting o2 mobile boradband, i have a lynksys router and it keeps failing the dns test, i know **** all about networking so any help would be much appreciated, how to i open the ports on the router?

    you could try getting broadband for a start

    Firstly, as weeder rather abstractly pointed out, O2 "Broadband" isn't really designed for something like online gaming or connecting a network to the internet. It is a 3G network, like high tech mobile phones. So you might find you have problems with connections being dropped and things like that.

    As for opening ports on the router, you need to go to the interface for the router, most likely a web based interface. Look at your manual for adminstrating the router, or try putting http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1 into a computer connected to the router (you may need to give your computer an ip address in the same range, such as 192.168.1.10 or something)
