Their latest collaboration is the CD ‘Far Away Here’ (Jazzhead) which has been nominated for a Bell Award for Best Australian Contemporary Jazz release in 2007.

‘They are beautiful tunes…….not sentimental or melancholy, but so beautiful they hold the soloists in their spell. Every note is right. The horns have a gripping presence, helped by the fine recorded sound, which gives the whole thing a wonderful sense of space’. John Clare (Sydney Morning Herald, January 12, 2007)

Between them, Oehlers and Williamson have released 12 CD’s, and have performed at the London Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Galway Arts Festival, WOMAD, Noumea, Sligo Jazz Project, World Expo in Japan, Manila Jazz Festival, and in the United States, Europe, UK, Asia, India, New Zealand and throughout Australia with leading international jazz artists like Geri Allen, Robert Hurst, Eric Harland, Ronnie Scott, Cindy Blackman, Peter Leitch, John and Jeff Clayton, Curtis Lundy, Eddie Marshal, Dale Barlow, Bobby Shew, Barney Mcall, Paul Grabowsky, Joe Chindamo, Scott Tinkler, Los Cabrones, Bernie McGann and James Morrison.
Australian saxophonist Jamie Oehlers was the winner of the 2003 World Saxophone Competition, held at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

In addition to Oehlers (tenor saxophone) and Williamson (trumpet), the Williamson/ Oehlers Quintet will feature outstanding Irish improvisers Greg Felton (piano), Damien Evans (double bass) and Sean Carpio (drums). The performance will feature original compositions by Williamson, Oehlers, and Felton.
Expect mesmerizing musical journeys with fiery improvisations and ensemble space and interaction. Copies of their new CD ‘Far Away Here’ will be available for sale at the gigs!

"Williamson’s originals are like contemporary tone poems" - Leon Gettler (The Age, February 7, 2002)

"There are outstanding solos from everyone…………………the depth and appeal of these compositions is wonderfully evident." - John McBeath (The Weekend Australian, December 10, 2005)

“(Oehlers is) a formidable musical force, the kind of player who keeps the band on its toes with a restless, searching inventiveness, stretching and developing phrases seemingly without effort. Contemporary jazz at the highest standard.” - John Clare (The Australian, September 11, 2004.)
