setting up 2 paypal accounts with one ebay account

    hi.
    my query is twofold.
first off i want to be able to transfer any leftover 3v funds i have into a paypal account instead of redeeming them every time. i read here that in order to do this you have to set up a second paypal account and invoice yourself for the amount. is this true.

secondly is it ok to set up these 2 different paypal accounts to use with the same ebay account.
would having 2 paypal accounts cause problems with buying/selling stuff.

    e.g
    1) if i put something up for sale does ebay give me the choice of which paypal account the funds will go into when i set up the auction.

    2) can i set up the same credit cards/3v vouchers in 2 separate paypal accounts.

    3) could i associate the same bank account details with 2 separate paypal accounts.

    thanks for any advice.

Looks about right. You'll have to pay whatever fee Paypal apply from the receiving account though.

It might. Both Paypal accounts will have to have a separate email associated with them and I'm not sure how eBay links your account to Paypal.

    Don't know.

I don't think that will be possible. Paypal will know the card is already associated with an account and would likely block it from being used on another.

That might work as you can only withdraw money to a bank account.

    thanks for the replies.

tbh the only reason I might need 2 paypal accounts is to get back the stupid 3v remaining credit.
it seems to be the only way I can see of doing this.

yeah I need separate emails for separate paypal accounts- just wondering about how they're tied to the ebay account itself though.
(the ebay and paypal emails don't have to be identical btw, do you know.).

so basically what I would like to do is set up a second paypal account which would take the 3v remaining funds and any funds from sales and leave the first paypal account with the actual 3v vouchers for buying stuff.

btw do you know if it's possible to pay for stuff using a combination of sources e.g combine paypal virtual money plus 3v voucher/credit card.
and if so would it be possible to do so from across 2 separate paypal accounts.

    i'm guessing not.

the reason I ask is: if it was possible to combine sources from within a paypal acount but not across accounts this would be a disadvantage of having 2 paypal accounts.

I've got a similar situation. I've got some fast approaching 3V deadlines and I was wondering if there was any way of adding the funds from both cards to my Paypal account. But it seems like that's not possible, for some reason. Unless I'm missing something.

I've set up another Paypal account and transferred the remaining amounts, which just happened to total €20 exactly and ended up with €18.45 in the account.

I noticed that with a personal account, I could only do this 5 times in a year, so I upgraded to a Premium account, which allows unlimited transfers, and it's a slightly lower transaction rate too, 3.4% + 35c as opposed to 5.4% + 35c.

It is however possible to transfer money free from personal account to personal account, for friends sending money to each other.

A bit late, but anyway... regarding the two paypal accounts under one ebay account:

My brother and I share the one ebay account. It's his account, but I had wanted to shift some stuff so I used his to sell. When you're selling something, it asks you to enter an e-mail address to receive payment. You can enter either one, no problems. When buying, when you click on the Pay Now button, it brings you to the paypal login page, and you can login there with whatever account you want.

Like I said, it's my brother's account and so his e-mail address is the actual address for the account (i.e. he receives all the e-mails regarding stuff selling/buying, etc.) Anyway, I don't think you would have to use the same e-mail account for your ebay and paypal.

    That sounds ok.
So essentially you can have 2 paypal accounts associated with one ebay account.

Only question so is whether you can fund the 2 separate accounts with the same credit card.
    I'll give it a try I suppose.

The only way you are really allowed to have 2 paypal accounts in your own name is if one is a Business account and the other is your Personal account. You will only be able to register a credit card to one account or the other, not both. Same goes for your bank account should you wish to add that as well.

And you will probably get flagged up if you are sending credit card payments from one account in your name to the other. There is a reason why credit card 'deposits' are not allowed and by sending payments you are bypassing that and most of the time these will be stopped by the system.
