Near Frankfurt-Hahn

    Hi all
    Does anyone know of a place near Frankfurt-Hahn airport that would allow you have a short holiday including some sun-bathing and relaxation aswell as restaurants/bars.
    Need a cheap 5 day break max. (because of lack of work holidays left) in the sun but very few options from Cork/Kerry at this late stage.

    I can't help you on the sun-bathing front since it's not really my thing, but the Moselle Valley is lovely. Trier is in that area, which some say is the oldest town in Germany. There's a bus that goes straight there from the airport.

    Also connected by bus is Koblenz, on 'The Romantic Rhine' which is supposed to be beautiful. It's where the Rhine and the Moselle join.

    Koblenz is a lovely town, stopped off there for a few hours on the way back to Hahn one day.

    You are also only an hours drive or so from Luxembourg, which is like a mini Paris. I am sure there is a bus or trian from Koblenz or a nearby town.

    Not sure about sun bathing though, it's fairly inland and I am not sure about nearby lakes.
