Kitchen Costs - Supply and Fit

    Hi,

We are shopping around for a new kitchen and received quotes from 10K up to 20K in difference for very similar styles. Two of the companies actually buy their stock from The Panelling Centre.

So we had a conversation with a kitchen fitter friend about the costs kitchen companies make and he said they can easily make 4K-5K on a 10K kitchen to sell and install it.

Is this for real? It seems a bit high and I know every business have to make a profit but how much profit? What percentage do kitchen companies work on for selling and installing a kitchen from In-House, KitchenWorld or CashandCarry, etc.?

    Thanks in advance.
    Tom

They may make 50% profits alright... or 100% on the cost BEFORE overheads are considered,,, like advertising, insurance, holiday pay, H&S compliance, rent on shops and showrooms, fleets of vans and trucks....

But a lot of companies probably also make large profits.

I would have thought that most kitchen companies manufacture at least some of their kitchens, otherwise they would simply be resellers.

How much profits do tradesmen make? (Rhetorical question, answer = loads)

    Cheers
    Joe
