Do you have a cash table here too?

Sorry but no cash games at present.

The Red Cow won't allow cash games with the current legisation, however this is due to change as of the 1st September and i have cash game chips order for then.

    There will be SnG's.

JP i remember talking to you a few weeks ago about your 150 game in the red cow and how poker events lost their market because they started adding too many tickets and non-cash prizes and people stopped turning up.

You're talking about taking 15% of the prize pool out, taking approx 1,000 from a 7500 prizepool is a decent chunk of change. effectively top 6 or 7 will be getting their money back in form of a ticket for a qualifier. if i want to play your 150 qualifier i will, i'd even happily play 10 euro or 20 euro sats to a 150 qualifier, but a 150 qualifier to win tickets to a 150 qualifier (that you're taking a reg on both is a waste of punters time.

Say i play this (pay you 25 reg) and win a 150 ticket to your qualifier. play that and (and pay another 25 reg) and then qualify for your 1500 game (and pay another 100+ reg) i've ended up paying you reg three times for the one tournament. this is why poker events monday games in the red cow stopped working... you will lose customers if you keep taking 15% out of this game, ESPECIALLY so far in advance of it. if you started taking 10%-15% from late feb early april fair enough, but from July!?!!? being honest this puts me off playing the 150 game, maybe i'm alone in that but at least consider it.

(cant play on sunday anyway cos i have no car! :( )

    Hi Jeff,

I should have explained myself a little better. I have up been giving (depending on the prize pool) the top 3 places €250 tickets for my monthly game in recent weeks. It is these tickets which will be replaced by the €150 tickets (which will result in an extra €300 been paid out in cash).

I use 15% in all of my pub games for tickets which can be used in the Red Cow or my €80 freezeout in the Kestrel on Mondays, which is why i wrote that.

I totally agreed with you, that giving say everyone on the final table a ticket will kill the crowd.

However i would like to get the ball rolling with the Irish Masters as i think it could be one of the best tournaments in Ireland next year.

I hope this clears things up a little.

Nice one Smurph, well played, you obviously got that double up :)

    Well played Paul too.

So sick, I bubbled this in 10th, had chiplead with 17 to go, lost two big pots in one level, tilted some more then got into 10 - 13 BB push mode, last hand 88 no good against Q8. I wouldn't mind, but the guy to my left was nursing an 8-12 BB stack for two levels. Nine hours + sore arse + 0$

Excellent tourney as usual JP, well done.

    Thanks,
Yeah got doubled up early on in the Final Table when I re-raised Nicky Powers pre-flop standard raise with Pocket Queens, and he called, after a long deliberation with pocket 8's. up to 130K then.

Few hands later I get pocket Queens in the BB again and utg raises to 22k (blinds are 2K4K) folded around to me and I ship it in and he insta-calls with AcQh, Flop comes down K J 2 but I dodge the bullets and 10's to take down a big pot.

I have close to 360K when this hand happens, we are 3 handed at this stage, Myself, Nicky Power and Paul Fox, I have the other 2 covered. I get AcQc in the SB, blinds are 4k8k 1K ante I raise to 25K in the SB Nicky Power calls.

Flop comes 2 4 8 rainbow, I bet out 50K he calls, turn is Q, I bet 75K and he goes all in, I call and he has QJ, and brick on the river, means I knock him out.

So it goes to heads up play, I have approximately 670K paul has 225K. It lasts 3 hands, I win the first, he wins the 2nd hand, and then the deciding hand.

I have Jh4h in the SB, and complete. Flop comes down 8s10hQh, I bet out 25K paul raises to 75K and I decide to push here. (I have nearly 3:1 chip lead and decide that with the flush draw and inside straight draw that I was willing take a chance). He calls and turns over Q 6. Turn is the 7h and game over. Once again great structure, well run and the festival next year looks brilliant. I think this game will grow and grow especially the feedback its getting. I mean 20K starting stack.

There is always interesting people at tables but I have to say that when we were down to 2 tables having Nicky power and thomas "the Bomber" Nolan at the same table (both with monster stacks) was brillant. There was superb bluffs, re-bluffs going on and both are fearless at the poker table.

and example of this is Thomas was in the SB blinds are 500, 1K and Nicky power raises to 8K in LP folded around to Thomas, who does the dwell up, bit of chit chat ensues, and he repops, to 23K, Nicky folds showing Ac8C, and Thomas flicks over 3 5 offsuit,  There had been great banter going on between them and they decided that if they got to heads up they would split the prize pool, but I was obvious to everyone that only one of them would be going to the Final table.

glad you won it Smurp the length of time I took to call for 40k to collect 130k total is a complement to the respect I hold for your game the call is standard I think but i didn't want to double you up. Your right about that battle with Bomber great fun and there's always only one coming off the table with two ego's that size going at it.

Anyhow well done again and to Jp great game, will be up next sunday for the €250

played this yesterday but it was on the tail end of a 3 day session so i was not functioning 100% to say the least. Picked up a hand here or there but my stack never really got anywhere until three tables out where i began to hoover up chips and then i took a hit when i had 6's,i bet the flop he called,i bet again he called again river is a Q he checks it i check behind and he turns over KQ,well played sir. I was then moved table and sandwiched between bomber and niall o'c who both had huge stacks compared to my 14k and with one guy going nuts by pushing all-in virtually every hand i decided to gamble with AQc and he had 6's and i missed so it was off to bed then

I hope to make to this in a few weeks (bit busy for the next few sundays).

Hope the numbers bounce back to make the price pool 10k.

It's the best regular game in town, imo.

i completely blew up in this one! had CL I think for a while with 90k and then lost it all over the course of about 20 hands. I got AK a ridiculous amount of times and it never hit once... :(

went short stacked and never found a spot to push with nicnic smurph and the bomber doingall the raising.

best tournament in dublin IMO. You have enough chips to do whatever you want, including go out to watch the golf for 3 hrs and return to come 3rd!

You were unlucky Niall, I seemed to find a few hands against you, I think it was 5 for 5 in the end including your exit hand.
I had been very conservative all the way through until the final table and was able to keep out of trouble. I managed to find a few hands then and started moving up gears. I made a few well timed bluffs/semibluffs and my marginal hands held up which helped.
The only time I was called with all my chips in the middle was the last hand, when I flopped top pair, but was no match for Colettes Flush draw/straight draw. Well done again smurf (and thanks for the lift);) .
Have to mention too, the craic on the table with Bomber, Finbarr, Colette, Niall, Vera and Nicky (when he was there) made the day so much more enjoyable. Btw Nic, to be away from the table sweating on Harrington and short stacked and to come back to Chip leader on the Final table is just legendary. Pure class, all credit to you(and a little to Bomber too:D ).

Have to say thanks also to JP for a great tournament and would recommend it to anyone who likes a well structured and well run tournament. (I'm looking at you Lloyd!;) ).
