    Hi all,
Here's a bit of craic we had last weekend. We strapped a small video camera to the plane and let loose. Some nice footage if not great quality. The first time the camera was mounted on the CG, and caused no handling problems, however the view was poor. Fuel ran out too which caused an emergency landing (yes the plane and cam were ok, and no I didn't hit the tree!!)

Second time up, and we placed the cam further forward, causing untold handling problems, but she stayed aloft albeit with constant corrective flying. This time the footage was better however the cam suffered from excessive vibes from the extreme proximity to the engine. The reason I'm bringing it down in the long grass is I have no landing strip just yet - this is also the reason for the hand launches.

This time also the plane and cam survived intact!

    For info:
    Plane: Graupner Trainer 65
    Engine: Saito 80
    Conrols: Laser
    Camera: Oregon Scientific ATC 2k

PS The black dot is not a UFO it's the sun believe it or not.

AP add's another dimension to RC aircraft and it's something I really want to get into once I'm confident with the soon to arrive Easy Star .....

Have a look at some of the videos on this link and click on any of the pics .....

    http://www.rcflights.co.uk/APEZequip.htm

Most of the Easy* guys seem to use a regular compact camera's with 3.0 to 7.0 Mp and a weight of around 100 to 150 gms .....

There are some wild videos around on the Easy* .... :)

    Hi there,

Thanks for the video :) sorry, a bit short, but I did it really quickly.
The camera is a flycam "air race", weight only 40 grams...
You can put this camera absolutely anywhere, in any kind of models. I have 1 hrs recording with this camera.

The movie was taken last week end, during the Retroplane Meeting (see the post for the Opel Rak, link to the photos at the end...).
Btw, the camera is available here : http://www.islandmodels.ie and certainly elsewhere in Ireland.
You have to buy a SD card. I've found one for 12 euros in Dublin. 1Go, gives you 1 hr of video :)

I also have a wireless camera for a number of years now, but there is too much asshle in the field to use /record it... and the quality is not better...
There is a shop in Swisszerland that can provide you everything you need to have a wireless view, live with googles from your model...
If interrested, I'll find the link. Very pro quality, and reasonably priced too :)
But for me, the mini camera with self recording is the way to go now !
I'll post more videos (aerobatics with several different views) later. Just prepare the sick bags ! :p

The camera is simply mounted with double side tape on the glider.
