i was playing cash tonight, and i wasnt getting many hands, got aa once, no callers when i raised to a fiver with 1/2 blinds, live game by the way
so then i am on small blind and limp with k8 spades, hit the flush on turn, and all the money goes in, the other guy had the nut flush, so it happens, no prob with that, and i was thanking my lucky stars he only had 65 euro left after losing a pot just a short while befor that. so i sit there another two hours, stole one pot, but no cards to speak of, and then i get qj spades, now i have at this stage got excellent reads on five of the ten players at the table, and have been calling their hands to myself as soon as they are in a pot, and i was exactly right on every occasion that they turned over a hand. so i limp in again and the pot is raised another seven euro, and i am one to two callers to that raiser, we get two spades on a flop of a33 and a bet from pre flop raiser is called by both of us, i have raiser on pocket nines, and caller on jj, so i hit the flush with 10 on turn, and original raiser checks, the guy i have on jj puts in a pot size raise, which i decide to go over the top of and make sure its two way, he says 'oh no, you got me but i have to call, and asks me if i have the boat, i say no got the flush and he throws a7 spades. you can imagine how i felt, wrong read for the first time on the night and second again to a better flush.

    so heres my question.

what to do when this happens. i am only down 200 at this stage, just made a bad read, but even at that i knew he was strong enough. i have good reads on a couple of players, should i continue to play or leave. what do you think, i have enough experience to know that when you are getting a bad run, sometimes its best to just head for the door and leave it for the night, but you have good reads on players so you wanna stay. so i'm just wondering what would you do in this situation. as it turns out, i left the building, thought it was the best course of action for me, and only because i started thinking about it.

firstly he didnt have jj. he was easy to read most of the time, i had him down as a guy who only plays pairs agressively, he never raised a pot all night with ak or aq, and he took down two pots with ak, so i couldnt put him on an ace with a medium kicker even suited as it turned out to be. now he only called the raise the same as i did but i really felt he was gonna raise the pot before the first guy raised, so i had him on a big pair. he didnt bet the flop and i reckoned he felt he was behind, but the small raise from the original raiser didnt put him off and thats why i reckoned my read was right of jj.

i think you have the board wrong as he cant have As7s if the flop is A33 as if there is 2 spades out as the one on the flop is the ace of spades to give you the draw???

anyway we all make mistakes. if you are confident you can shake it off, roll up your sleeves and bust balls.

If you've just received a temporary bout of low confidence induced impotency, go home sleep it off pop a couple of those lil blue wonder pills for your next session and then rise to the occasion. felt him the next night, you will receive an enormous sense of well-being :D
