The Darkness Demo on EU PSN

Lads,
some of you have probably already seen this..

The Darkness demo up on the EU Store....about 1.4Gb..

Was not at all impressed with the 360 version and I seriously doubt this version is any different, but it may save/convince some of you from/to picking it up..

Must say I'm enjoying it on the 360 and am about half way through.
Strikes me as a game well done - good atmosphere, graphics and sound.
Whilst not your typical run-n-gun FPS it's more of an immersive story.
If the PS3 is similar to the 360 version, which I believe it is, I'd recommend
a download.

Gamespot gave it 8.5/10.

Seemed to divide opinion between gamers all the same Gran,
personally I found it a tiresome game which was amazingly average both in graphics and gameplay...sound was good though..
Strange, as I actually found Riddick on the Xbox an excellent title......but this just didn't do anything for me..

Poor AI, some awful texture usage, uninspiring weapons and clunky control didn't do it any favours either, while the story was heavily cliche and boring......but thats just my opinion, as I'm well aware there are a good few people who enjoyed it. I just hoped for something a little more......sometimes average games are worse than just plain bad ones, just for being so average..

Worth the download though just to see what side of the fence you're on..

My brother brought it back from the states last week. Its not the best shooter ever,but it is good imo. Definately try before you buy as its not to everyones tastes.

Good story, well told.
Excellent voiceovers featuring cast members from Oz and Six Feet Under.
The Darkness-very cool voiceover. Good atmosphere throughout.

Action can be very hit and miss, fast in some parts, like watching paint dry in others. You kind of get the feeling that the developers couldn't quite achieve what they were aiming for, at least thats how I felt. But overall I enjoyed it.
FPS purists probably won't like it!

Ah fook! I bought it and it's winging it's way to me along with Ninja Gaiden Sigma!

On a different note - Transformers is also on it's way to me anyone here anything good/bad about it?

Gamespot said Transformers was terrible, looks great but terrible gameplay.

The 360 version was fantastic imo, one of my games of the year so far. There seems to be a big difference in opinions on this one, but I'm very glad that I went for it and bought the game.

A different take on a tired genre. Definitely isnt for everyone (dig up the 360 thread to see) but there is enough good stuff in this game for me to recommend it.

I agree, but it aint for everyone. Try before you buy.
