6 months isn't enough time to deture him or anyone else. Its going to take him that long to recover from the beating Sherk gave him. :D

You can't help but feel for Franca. I understand why he did what he did.. Doesn't mean it was the right thing to do, but I empathise with his situation..

according to armando garcia 25% of fighters tested in california failed drug tests last year - and this year doesnt look any better- its about time that the drug issue in mma was addressed - to say that drugs are a part of any sport doesnt cover this - not to the level we are seeing - this has to be sorted out for the sake of mma and for those athletes who choose not to cheat, from a personal choice standpoint - if they want to kill themselves then thats a decision trhey make and can face those consequences (not that i wish harm to another person but i dop believe in personal responsibility) but from a sporting perspective they are taking unfair shortcuts

The Wrestling Observer reported that Greg Nelson said that Sherk will challenge the test results

As long as fighters think that they can get away with it, they'll give it a go. I'm sure there's plenty of guys who use and haven't been caught, which is why they continue to do it. Looking at Sherk, you can't say you'd be surprised at him testing positive for steroids, so it'll be interesting to hear what he says as it will be hard for him to win back the fans now
