    Quick question..

    Background:
I met this girl in a pub 3 months ago and since then we have been seeing each other regularly...
Im 17 and underage for drinking in a pub i know but thats not the point.. she turned out to be 15 an old looking 15 year old^_^

Now we've reached a stage in the relationship where we want to have sex... what are the legal ramifications if i do it? Should i just leave her and find someone else?
I really like her but i don't want to risk unneeded problems if i do anything.

    Advice please?

I have a feeling this is going to get locked fairly rapid. That's a legal question mate. Under the proposed laws that the law commission put up in 1992 there would be no censure for any consenting couples within three years of each other but McDowell in his mightly hasty wisdom merely re-enacted the 1935 Act albeit in a bastard form.

    The new Bill

provides a ground for relief if you honestly believed and were led to believe that she was overage.

In your case this doesn't apply and whoops it's statutory rape.

Whatever way we or the government look at it, underage teenagers are going to have sex. But fair play to you for questioning this, it shows maturity and responsibility.

Honestly, do not touch this with a ten foot pole. The ramifications are incredible for you in the eyes of the law and the eyes of almost everyone else. Seriously this is bad news, move on, find a girl your own age. I know it might be hard but unfair as it may seem, it's for the best. There are plenty of girls your age to have fun with.

yeah just wait a few months until she is 16 (that is the legal age right) - no matter how old she looks she is 15, and at 15 (I for one) was immeture and if her parents find out they may force her to say rape. It isn't worth the risk! socially and legally!

as far as i know the age is still different for boys and girls 16 for boy 17 for girl.

If you do you can be done for statutory rape and seen as you know her age there will not a defence of honest mistake.

it will be her parents decision not hers as to weather to press charges or not , not hers.

it would be a sexual conviction against you for the rest of your life.

it is probably unlikely that the above will happen but thats the possibilities

BUT more to the point there is a big difference between a 17 year old and a 15 year old you could (if the stars were aligned right) be going into college and she could(more than likely) have just done her junior cert.............that does not sound right to me

afaik, there's no either gender age - the one and only age is 17 for everyone.
