Yes, it's not happening in Colombia but here in good ole Ireland.

If your reading this and are wanted, you better head for the hills now :)

'A Garda list of an estimated 100 drug dealers who have escaped potentially long jail terms by going on the run has been drawn up and distributed to senior officers across the country as part of a major drive against organised crime.'

What kind of country allows this to happen for over a 2yr period and yet people are jailed for trivial stuff while big fry skip bail and hide to avoid their 10yr jail terms?!!

    Talk about banana republic!!

Heh, it's like a live version of Prison Break.

You see, the concept of bail really relies on the whole, "innocent until proven guilty" thing. These people are granted bail because the judge in question feels that the law consider said drug dealer to be an honourable man who'll turn up for his court appearance.

It has nothing to do with Garda incompetence. These people haven't escaped, merely disappeared, which is an insanely easy thing to do when you have a small network of equally subhuman scum who'll cover for you.

With any luck, plastering their faces all over the place will get local people, and perhaps even foreign people to anonymously tip off the local authorities.

There's a guy who owns an Irish bar in Barcelona who has a warrant on his head here in Ireland for armed robbery in Cork. The one big problem with free movement in the EU is that such people can easily run onto the continent as soon as they're discovered. This makes them twice as hard to catch.
