seem to be doing ok...opened up a boylesports account coz of their free bets...put in 25€ and have already taken out 50 and have 35€ in this account....usually pick football matches where i am fairly certain of the outcome (not premiership though as they are usually low odds due to number of gamblers...look at norway ,sweden, germany ,irish league...top v bottom at home kinda thing)

I've been living off gambling for a while but I'm only 18 so living expenses are free. I tend to make an absolute fortune of accumulators, Championship and Serie A but I'm very proud to say I've never lost a bet on tennis.
My system involves putting 100 quid into betfair and then when I double it or go over 200 I reduce it to 100 again

Anyone who gambles on that many markets obviously doesn't have enough expertise in a single one, so as to make a living from gambling on it. But I doubt you even have any expertise in studying markets like football and tennis and have just got lucky, because the most you have been gambling is 364 days and that's if you're 19 tomorrow. I'll take the median, you have been gambling an average of 6 months. You haven't made a living from it, you have won a few bets, come back in 10 years and let us know how you are getting on.

That's a great "system" you have there.

I don't even gamble on tennis, but I'd imagine a gambling system being something like: studying the tennis court surface, the weather that day and historically how particular players play in that weather, the type/brand of tennis balls being used, how they react with the particular tennis court in that particular weather, for that player. The fitness and health of said tennis player, brand of racket, etc etc bla I could go on forever.

What you have there is a fools system, (I don't even know why I'm calling it a system) it resembles something of the martingale system.

Accums were invented by the bookies for the bookies.

Unless you've been incredibly steeped in luck this I sincerely doubt this. Define an absolute fortune? What's your average stake?

Believe it or not most bookies couldn't care less what age you are.I started at 6th year and as long as I took my school tie off nobody cared. As for the tennis bets, the ATP website gives you great head to head figures for all players on all courts so not too much personal research is involved. The fact their can't be a draw means there's much less risk involved and decent profit can be made on the 10th-20th seeds against no hopers in the first few rounds.
My average stake was 10 when I started for acca's but know it's always fifty. With Acca's certain bookies, A.K.A. hackett's offer insanely good odds on their special acca's, Personal favourite being the 9-1 i got on Ac, Inter, and Roma.
As for a lot off markets, it's really only two, football and tennis. Not exactly alot but you're right, it's not exactly a system

The fact there can't be a draw means there's much less risk involved. WTF!
That will be reflected in the odds you get.

You are never ever up when you're gambling, because what you win you will most definately lose in the future, just make sure it ain't too much :D

yeah,......bubs what about your betfair strategy ? with the 100 double-up and withdraw system.

Up, but was down a fair bit before I knew what I was doing. In play trading at betfair turned me round.

I'll still bet on practically any sport (bar horse racing or GAA) though I concentrate on football

LOL on the gambling "system" based on accumulators above

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 864 ✭✭✭Aedh Baclamh

Hush hush on that system guys.

Dodge - In play most certainly has its benefits but it can kill you at times too. Lot of opportunities in those markets.

My double-ing up system. I think a massive editing job could be in order for my first post but I have been making quite a bit. I've been living in Milan for two months with only my accomadation paid for by my employer ( getting paid at end ) and my profits from last year are keeping me in good stead. Regardless of my inability to express them

Sorry for the criticism , it also seems a bit harsh.

But the longer you are involved in gambling, the more you will realise how difficult it is to effectively live off the proceeds of gambling.
In your case(financial position),...... one bad week could be an absolute disaster .
The bookies are professional teams assembled with top statiticians, matamaticians, resources, and heaps of experience to boot.
they make a living from us,.... its not meant to be the other way around , and it is a tiny fraction of people who can earn enough to live thru sharper mental judgement than the bookies.
for you,... you must bet to earn "living money" ,... so what happens when you cant find a "value" bet available ?...... you think you should be getting even's odds and find that the best price is only 4/6???..... do you take the 4/6 because you cant get anything better ?...or do you hold off till next time.
if you need the cash , you cant afford to wait till the next time !!

luck dosent come into it when you are gambling long term,....... the law of averages will always catch up. gambling is never 50/50 ,... with a bookie its 55/45 in their favour,..... even with betfair... its 50/50 minus commission !!

I'm a firm believer that the only way to win is to trade one bookie against the other,....... it wont make you an instant fortune, but will build up enough experiance to find regular "loop-holes" ,... and a regular income without risk of loosing your stake.

best of luck with your current trend of sucess,.... i really do hope it lasts for you, but be sure that one day you will loose the tennis bet, and hope you dont delve in to try and re-coup your losses.
Try and study the bookies instead of the form,.... and be rewarded with regular loop-hole benifits.

I know it won't last forever and it's not that I've never had big losses, it's just overall I'm well up.As for odds I have gone weekends without touching football if there's nothing on. Towards the end of the season and the quasi-max fixing in Italy makes it fairly dodge.

I made around 1000 euro profit on the in-play trading during the soccer season . Woudlve been a lot more if I had've known that the end of the season would be so unpredictable. Lost 550 euro in 30 mins one afternoon.
I'll probably give it another go this year for a while, though I find it a very boring way to make money.
Down on the horses and other other small bets which I do for fun. Overall my betfair account is 800 euro up lifetime.

I can go months without putting a bet on then see some value and make some money, especially el betting but once I have money in betfair or cheltenham/big festival is on Ill end up betting on every race or use my entire account balance trading on a football match. Im back playing poker on betfair so Im going to have to avoid the sportsbook completely.

Up and by a long way, I'm quiet lucky actually... I remember my birthday, which was a few weeks after me brothers and we went to the dog track in Dundalk. My bro' ended up loosing €90 as I was up €120 from 24 races between Shelbourne and Dundalk, and me only making €5 bets! The biggest win was on an outsider in Shelbourne and I got €75 out of 'em. Thats a good dog-dog-dog-dog.

    But remember this fella's, this is a saying that I adapted from the Halo Effect;
"Gamblings not a problem, the problem's not winning..."

Being a succesful gambler has almost nothing to do with luck.
