    http://osx.iusethis.com/ - who is a member?

wanna share your profile url's so we can all spy on your favourite apps hehe (obviously you get to decide what we see!) I decided to join, handy way to see what apps are out there that I might like but I just don't know it yet :)

(Haven't built up a profile yet though, just working on it)

Yeah I've been with them for a while now, great site. But I've still a bit of updating to do.

You've already got quite a bit more on there than me, I've tons of stuff to add. The site is great if you're looking for a particular type of app, you can just do a search and find the most used one. Saves all that messing around on versiontracker, reading reviews and comparing downloads, etc. The site is still kinda young though so not everything is on there yet.

What's the diferrence between Gmail Notifier, Gmail+Growl and Google Notifier. Are they all as crap as each other?

Google really need to port Google Talk to Mac as quickly as possible. :(

So what's the craic with the site? Do you have to manually update your profile each time you use an application?
I would have thought that there would be an applicaiton you can download which does a scan of what's in your Applications folder and then updates your profile automagically (similar to Last.fm's autoscrobble feature like)

Gmail+Growl seems to have been auto-added, maybe cos I added Growl, not sure about that.

Gmail notifier is the system tray app that notifies you of new mail. Google notifier does the same but with your calendar events as well. I use Google notifier at work. Gmail at home!

Yeah, I'm hoping there is. This is my first time using it, so I'm gonna play around a bit when I get home!

If anyone knows the answer to this, that would be "super".

I use Gmail Notifier myself but I think it's a load of tosh.
It pops up prompts about mails which I received about 3 months ago every now and again. Fairly annoying.

Really? I have never found that. It is kinda slow though. I have gmail setup on my blackberry and I find that the mail hits my phone almost a minute before the notifier picks it up! Bit annoying really, but other than that I haven't found any probs with it. Never get old mail issues for sure.

I think AppFresh can do this, among other things.

But it's very out-of-date so I'm doing some housekeeping!

I wish you could change the timing at which notifier polls the account. For me, once an hour would be plenty.

Actually, I could see alot of people wanting that option. Maybe I should start coding new google widgets lol ;)

I'm really starting to like this, found some great little things last night that I probably would never have found. Saved loads of time using Adium Book to sync my contacts for example. Also found a great Script Debugger! I'm a happy camper!

Just came across this http://www.uebercoders.net/gms/ might be an alternative. Ill be sticking to my growl notifier though I think.

iChat for the win. Out-of-the-box support for Google Talk in Leopard's ichat too!

iChat runs Gtalk nicely using Jabber now, but yeah it will be handy to have an 'out of the box' solution for that. Just ran iChat on Leopard there to see what the new version is like... I really like it. I used to use iChat but gave up because I wanted to run MSN without having to setup my msn for jabber. But the new iChat is lovely. iChat theatre is very nice and there are great new config options for grouping your contacts. I think I'll go back to iChat when Leopard is officially released.
