How to create library or backup music from music already stored on Ipod Nano?

17-07-2007 8:12pm#1Okay first off I'm a complete luddite so apologies in advance for any questions which may seem ridiculous to those who are slightly more HI-tech....
Heading off on my travels soon and a friend very kindly uploaded a load of music from their computer onto my newly-purchased Ipod nano.
I have since learned that if and when I now go to add more tunes and plug in my Ipod I run the risk of wiping everything that's saved on it already. As the music was copied from a friends computer to which I do not now have access I'll be left essentially music-less ( my own music collection is in a word - limited!).
Also if do get this first bit sorted, do I then face this same problem every time I try to charge my Ipod via PC's in internet cafés etc?
All advice greatly welcome!
