    I have a roland Jc-120. It's great.

Would it be a bad idea to play an electric bass through it?

Though probably not ideal I dont think it would be a bad idea. I have a JC-120 as well and I tried it with my piano and also vocals and it's great for those. Because it's so clean and powerful with some large speakers I reckon it would be ok to use with a bass guitar. Plug it in anyway and try it. Won't do it any harm. Just don't put it up any higher than 2 when trying first. I've never had my jc120 higher than 4. hehe

yeah, 3 and things start to rattle.

was just worried about the low frequencies perhaps damaging the amp.
