I know this is poker but I am wondering if any football fans here would be interested in a league for 20 a head like the last longer WSOP?

I think we should have a league especially for the poker forum, since we're obviously way more intelligent than the regulars on the football forum, but Also because I intentionally banned myself from the football forum and never ever want to post there.

I say $20 a head.

Is someone going to hold the money for 9 months? Seems to be long time to wait just on a 20 quid bet.

im up for it, play it every year till christmas, always near the top of leagues and drop way down...
20 people * €20 = 400(i can do maths me), top 3/4 get paid like a tourney or just the winner?

9 months is a long time, what about $10-$20 a month, top scoring team each month takes it all. That way everyone has an interest even if they have one bad month.

I'll play. Thing about these things i see it every year, theres great interest for the 1st month or 2 and then the majority of players from mid division down lose interest, what about having something like this with 4 seasons for approx 2 months:

1) End of August - October 31st

2) November 1st - December 31st

3) January 1st - February 30th

4) March 1st - End of Season

Have 1 full season and 4 seperate seasons $20 each time and 25% of the winnings from each of the 4 seasons go into a kitty for the Full Season.

So say we have $20 x 20 people thats $400 prize money for the 1st season. 75% is awarded out among the top x amount of players i.e $300 and $100 is left over to go towards the prize money for the end of the season so people who do well over the 4 seasons will have a shot at winning the full season prize aswell but people who have a bad month will still have some interest when the new season starts.

OK, I'm back from the wilderness, I have a league set-up and the code is 121972-32367.

I'll hold onto the money if people want, I'm not sure if this idea has died or not, but just thought I'd bump it to see if there was some interest...

Don't think anyone owes me anything, if anyone does I can't remember and it's not like it's alot anyway, so don't worry about it.

OK, I think we need to make some decision. If we take it a month at a time, to begin with we can make it August and September, and see what to do from there. Maybe make it every 2 months or monthly, whatever. People can transfer it to my Stars account Poker_Brat11 and I'll hold it til the end of September. Just post up here if you're in on the bet, and then in the League forum just post up who you are on boards. (I'll make a thread there now)

If anyone wants to organise the DVDFan idea, which seems like a good one, feel free and I can hold the money and transfer as directed, if people wouild rather I held it. I'm just too lazy to do it. Anyone???

LOL, well trust me I'm the value in this bloody thing, the last 3 years I've done terribly, although I just put it down to variance and running badly...

I'll play ill set up my team later, if you decide to go for the 4 seasons idea ill keep track of the points for the seperate seasons in the thread, you obviously dont need a table for the overall competition as that will be on the website.

I presume its just a matter of adding and deducting points so it shouldnt be too complicated and im nearly sure boards added a new code that allows you to do a nice structure for tables. If i update the table once a week it shouldnt be much work, can you edit a thread for an unlimited amount of time??
