I have one myself, but it hasn't flared up enough for it to be operated on as of yet. A friend of mine had his operated on 2 years ago, and from what he's told me, there isn't a whole pile you can do with it. It took his one 7 months to heal after the operation.

I'm sorry dude, it literally is a pain in the ass, but you'll just have to grin and bare it.

It needs to be packed with ribbon gauze, from the inside out. Bathing in salt water and liquid Savlon helped me, along with rest. It will heal eventually but it's imperative to keep it clean or it will get reinfected. You need to have it dressed after you bathe. Good luck, it is painful though.

I got my PNS lanced about 7 weeks ago, as of yet the wond still hasn't healed, my doctor has decided that i will have to go for the op. Starting to worry about going for the op tho, only been in my job for a few months, i'm from the north so i don't have enough PRSI built up to go on the sick and i've just bought a house.

I dont think i could cope being out of work for anymore than a month! Head wreaked with this thing, would nearly go and get a hot poker and burn it out! Save me the hassle!

concentrate on having a high protein diet... wounds tend to heal a lot faster if there's a lot of protein in your diet

My sympathies are with you but this is not a medical forum.
