    Hi all,

My self i work as IT staff in town full time, 40 hrs per week,

Im basically saving to buy a house and while im wating for the prices to drop :p i wanna have as much of my own money ready.

Ive been involed in loads of tiny IT projects before where i gathered business from the likes of local papers (waste of time). independant directory (only covered costs) and flyers around shops (which i found to be the best) so now ive decided to get profesionally designed and matching business cards / flyers to be posted in doors in new estates and in shops ect.... ive set a budget of €650... has anyone any ideas to help me get the most out of this project or any warnings / advice maybe ?

I use vistaprint.co.uk. They usually run special offers which can amount to a lot of flyers/postcards for the money spent. Delivery is efficient also. Good quality, haven't had a problem yet. Hope this helps.

All these things are important. Overall image and presentation say a lot about your 'company'. But, the main thing is finding the right prospects and asking! Small businesses always have IT issues and generally don't have the contracts to support their HW or SW or they would like to go from wired to wireless. I'd try find a list of all the small businesses in one area of the city and I would first send them a 'brochure' outlining your basic services and then follow up with a call. tell them that you know they are busy and you dont want to waste their time, but, also ask them to hold on to your card and details in case they need some advice or work done in the future. these things take time and hard work, but I'm sure you know that already. Good luck with the house purchase.
