Right, first of all, i'm not an idiot but this is wrecking my head and I don't know how to fix it.

I'm on a new computer today - well, new is the wrong word. It's one of those first generation iMacs with a really old OS. Doesn't have Firefox or Safari or anything apparently, so I've been using an old version of IE. Anyway, everytime I try to log in to Gmail, it just brings me back to the login page again - it doesn't go to 'Loading' or anything - and a message flashes up on the top bar for a second saying 'Check Cookies'.

The thing is, I don't know how to do this. Can anyone help?I went into Edit preferences- Cookies, and it's set to 'When receiving cookies - Never Ask'. Again, I'll emphasise the whole 'not an idiot' thing, but shouldn't this mean that Gmail should work?

I'm going a tiny bit crazy not being able to check my mail, so if anyone could help me out I'd be totally in your debt.
