I need a little practise amp for the apt.

Both of these have good reviews. What's your 2 cents ?

    Thanks,

    D.

I own a Microcube and cannot say enough good things about it, but I've also heard fantastic things about the Vox DA5, so either way you should be onto a winner.

    cheers -

I like this function on the Vox

"plus noise reduction. .5, 1.5, or 5 watt selectable output lets you overdrive the amp without getting loud and extends battery life"

I'd be tempted to try out the Vox. Looks like a really nice little mini amp

I can't say i see the point in variable output on the DA5, I mean, its a modeller, you're not really 'overdriving' the amp. As for saving batteries...well that's kind of a stupid claim, obviously you can save batteries on anything by turning the volume down.

The Microcube is a fine little practice amp, the only thing that bothers me on it is the lack of volume control on the line-input. If you're jamming to a backing track on a ipod or whatever, sometimes it can be hard to hear it even with the ipod up full.

If the DA5 offers this it would be an advantage alright, i havent read the specs too closely to see if it does.
