Hitting trips on one suit board.

The background to this hand was that I lost half my stack early in the tournament after landing a set with my TT on a rainbow flop a few hands earlier only to run into a backdoor flush. I was biding my time until I got a playable hand yet was conscious of the blinds increasing and me being rendered unable to take down any kind of pot.

My purpose of the minraise on the button was to sweeten the pot a little with so many callers so that I'd be entitled to a nice enough pot if I hit trips. Was this a mistake?

Your minraise on the button is horrible. You are reopening the betting and if someone pushes you cant call, Just push preflop yourself

As played, what would you do anything else other than push??

pre-flop isnt horrible, but given stacks I would probably limp along or shove if people were limp folding alot.

    as played, shove.

    I'd call flop, then bet/raise a non-club turn.

Naytee checks, CAPKIN223 checks, kentgirl checks, deucebag bets 90, Hero raises to 620, 2 folds, kentgirl calls 620, 1 fold.

    Turn (1645) 2diamond.gif

    River (1645) 3heart.gif

    Hero shows 4club.gif 4heart.gif
    kentgirl shows Aheart.gif 5spade.gif

kentgirl wins 1645 with A straight, Seven high

As you can see I shoved and it didn't quite work out. Generally though, in a deepstacked game, how would you play a similar hand?

Well a few hands earlier she went to the showdown with A3o, calling bets all the way to the river where she hit her 3. It was enough to win the pot!
