€500 to Spend on Speaker setup

    Hi,

    Seeking advice on how best to spend my 500 notes:

    Criteria:

    I have a decent DVD Player and don't really want an all in one system that includes another.

    I have a HTPC with a high quality XFI Soundcard so a decent PC Speaker set, like Logitechs Z5500 set for example is a possibility.

    The whole lot will have to sit at / under / adjacent to the TV as running wires in this room would be a bitch and I have 2 small kids aswell.

    I don't mind having 2.1, 5.1 or whatever as long as they all sit at the front.

    I am looking for the best solution for around €500, and I don't mind how it's achieved as long as it meets the above restrictions.
