I'm not sure Mike, but i think the beaches up here in Donegal, Bundoran mainly are known for surfing....must be bloody cold though!

South coast and west coast. I've been to Tramore, Iniscrhone, Easkey and one close to Donegal.
http://www.isasurf.ie - here should be everything you need. There are lots of pages and directions on the web. Google it and you'll be busy next few years :-)

Ask Calina. She'll know all the good spots, especially for kite-surfing.

I'm quite partial to Inchidoney, Garrettstown and Inch. All very good and all within a half an hour from home :D

Mike, I've emailed you a list from the Stormrider Guide.

For anyone else who's interested, two good sites to start looking are wannasurf and beachwizard.

The key locations in Ireland are: 1) Lahinch 2) Bundoran 3) Strandhill 4) Portstewart 5) Castlegregory and Inch in Kerry and as Ryan mentions, Garretstown and Inchadoney in Cork.

The current Bord Failte ad was shot near Doolin, and from the Cliffs of Moher there is a huge wave which is popular with the big wave guys. I don't know so much about how often it works though.
