I'm hugely impressed by Mr. Ferguson's 'zero to hero' goal at the moment. He's aiming to make 10 grand starting from zero.

In honour of this i've decided to set myself a public challenge of doing similiar. I have about 10 dollars on Mermaid. I'm going to try to follow in his footsteps and turn it into 5 grand.

Normally i start with a hundred bucks and withdraw every few hundred profit but I'm going to see if i can discipline myself to play differently. I'm also going to take it easier than mr. F.

I'm starting with 10 dollars because to start from zero is too difficult.

I'm going to give myself three chances that is I'm allowed to go bust twice.

I'm allowed play at any level my bankroll will take. Mr. Ferguson only plays with 10% of his bankroll which is immeasurably wiser.

I'm going to not try to play when i've been drinking, which in the past has cost me a lot of money and which is why i never keep more than a few hundred dollars online.

I have terrible trouble with my internet connection always (thanks Eircom) so i may have to play limit for a while.

I'm allowed to move from Mermaid to another site if i don't get comfortable with their software.

I'll report about once a week. I'm aiming for a three month goal. My goal is simply to double up each week.

I may be moving house in September so I'm allowed a little leeway.

I'm going to start with limit 7 card stud which is by far my most consistently profitable game.

I'm aiming to be 100% honest and if i go bust 3 times in the first week i'll say so.

if anyone knows exactly how Chris 'Heyzeus' Ferguson is getting on can they let me know, he doesn't update that often.

ok, this week all i need to earn is 10 dollars, here we go!

no i'll just post here. 10% of the bankroll will be roughly the buyin rule but it'll depend on the game. i'm just going to concentrate on not going bust for the first couple of weeks. when i get it to a grand i'll think hard about what levels to play at to make it to 5 grand within the three month timeframe.

just a bit of fun really, good for the discipline.

half way towards my weekly goal (up a few bucks) gotta keep my head.

if you have the patience of a heron and pay attention 7 card stud is as close to sure money as you can get in poker.

ok, i've made my first double up which wasn't as painful as i had feared. At one stage early on i was down to 7 dollars but the beautiful game that is 5cents/10 cents limit 7 card stud got me back up.

It'll actually take me about 10/15 hours for my next double up so it'll probably be a week before i report again. I guess this won't get interesting until i go above a grand anyway but its good discipline.

i just noticed that i have a 200 dollar bonus pending on my account so I'll have to remove that when it turns up as that wouldn't be playing the rules.

if the mods would prefer if i stuck these reports in the bad beat sticky rather than on this thread i don't mind.

i wish Chris Yeayzeus Ferguson would post an update. i think he's on about 2 grand according to reports....?

I'm sort of doing this with $15 free dollars Titan gave me, its up to $43 at the moment but Im not exactly commited to the idea.

well, i blew, with the help of Eircom, ty.

got my bankroll up to 36 dollars, 4 dollars off the next double up level.

then i broke Chris Fergusons rules about playing the percentage of your bankroll and sat down with it all on one table. hit the nuts on the turn, got most of it in bar 6 dollars and my connection went dead. must have been close to 90 dollars in the pot. horrible. but i went outside his rules and paid the price.

i'm going to lodge 100 bucks in and see out my deposit bonus, i'll probably empty it if and when it gets to a grand. i just can't grind any more, i did it for too many years.

reading Daniel Negreanu's blog i see that he turned 200 bucks into 4 grand in 36 hours, playing the exact opposite rules to Chris. i read that after i lost the big pot and had to laugh.

what a great gamesman Chris is, my respect for him, has only increased.

i may post when the account hits a grand to see if i can turn it into 5 grand but probably not, i like a few cans of guinness too much to leave that much at my fingertips!

I might aswell join in. I have $7 in my stars account, since stars NL holdem is rigged againt me i am going to play 7 card stud and omaha and see how far i get too.
