Starter Road Bike

Hey lads,
Was contemplating buying this road bike

Anybody have any thoughts on it? I cycle a hybrid everyday to work but would like to start riding at the weekends and thought this might be a decent starter? I see Rasta is selling a bike but i think its slightly too big. (being a 33inch leg, i'm gathering from some guides i looked at, I should be looking at 52 to 55cm frames)

how tall are you? 52 would seem small for a 33inch leg depending on your height.

I'm about 5' 11 in height, does that change the size of frame needed??

The Carrera range @ Halfords has some decent to good bikes in it, but that model strikes me as bottom of the barrel.

I'd fork out a bit more for a Carrera Valour, more expensive but as entry level bikes go much more likely to work for you.

Considering you paid 90 pounds for it however long ago and are the fourth owner, i think your takin the piss looking for 300euro to be honest.

Isn't the issue the value of the bike rather than how much he got it for or how many owners it has had?

Well its the fact that he wasn't altogether sure if the bike was stolen or not, and there was a problem with the gears. I dont know about you but 4 owners for a bike thats 2006 model seems very strange to me.

You could of just asked me yourself you know. I also have a sirrus which I'm holding onto and getting rid of the OCR. No way it's going for 100 considering what I paid for the full service, new pedals and getting the thing back to Ireland. It's up on ebay if you want to ruin that as well.

No worries. On your orginal question I would go for a Trek 1200 or Specialized Langster over a Valour.
