aerial in donegal

    Hi,
    I have recently moved to downings in donegal. The aerial to the house was quite badly corroded so I had to change the wiring and throw out the pre-amp. I have added a mains plug in booster and at present get average bbc1 and UTV. RTE1 & TV3 aren't bad. TNG/BB2 poor. C4/network2 is non existent.

    Does anyone know if I simply add in a new preamp will all channels improve and will I get c4/network2?
    Should I get a new aerial altogher?

    It's probably best to get a new aerial.

    And it's funny that you should mention Downings. I was wondering what type of aerials they use up there, as we often get to stay in a mobile home that has dodgy reception.

    What transmitters serve the area?? I guess it would be Fanad and Limavady or Strabane, but TV3 reception would mean Holywell Hill.
