Sky/NTL quandary

Currently I have an old Sky subscription, with the full Sky Sports package. The Sky box is located in my living room. I am paying for the basic NTL analogue package as well. I have a cable running up to my bedroom where I have a nice Samsung 32' LCD set and a magic eye to change stations on the digibox without getting off my butt. Was wondering about getting Sky+ and can't get my head around multiroom. Therefore I have a couple of questions and would be delighted if anyone can help. Firstly, if I was to get a Sky+ box, could that be cabled directly in to my bedroom from the dish? Can the original digibox in the living room be left there or do they give you another piece of equipment? If you want multiroom in 4 rooms, how much extra does this cost or is it feasible or available? If I was to get a HD box in the bedroom, how much extra does it cost per month and can it be used in a multiroom set up and has it the same pause/record features as the Sky+ box? If it works out economically, hopefully I can ditch NTL as it seems mad to be paying for both. I know some of this info is available if I googled but I don't know enough about the subject to make an informed choice and I'm afraid to jump in, get it all sorted only to find out that I should have done x, y or z instead! Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Why are you paying for both Sky and NTL, surely there is a basic channel crossover there so you are just paying twice.
Firstly, if I was to get a Sky+ box, could that be cabled directly in to my bedroom from the dish?
If you get Sky+ they will put a dual or quad LMB on your dish, two cables will then be wired into the Sky+ box where ever you decide to put it. Installation is €45 or free if you go for the multi-room option (which AFAIK is and extra €15 a month). Sky+ box is €149 too.
Can the original digibox in the living room be left there or do they give you another piece of equipment?
Yes, but if you want to keep all the subscription channels on it then you'll be into the multi-room territory, so you'll pay for it.
If you want multiroom in 4 rooms, how much extra does this cost or is it feasible or available?
This I'm not sure about, but I think it's €15 per room, so 3 extra rooms would be €45 a month.
If I was to get a HD box in the bedroom, how much extra does it cost per month and can it be used in a multiroom set up and has it the same pause/record features as the Sky+ box?
HD is €15 extra per month, installation is €45 and the box is €449. All recording features if Sky+ are also on the HD box.

Most of the Sky prices can be found here and here.

Thanks for taking the time to do all that, much obliged. It confirms my fears that it would be too expensive to go for multiroom. It's a lot less hassle to keep the NTL analogue, that way it can be viewed/channel changed, in every room I choose without paying an extra fee. It is mad having to pay for both, but it suits my needs. Thanks for your input and time.

you could also upgrade one room to the ntl digital and leave the others as they are now then you are only paying the exta 5euro to have digital on the ntl bill
and save by keeping the sky box as free to air ... possibly..
