    Hi all,
Hope somebody here can help me. I'm doing research for a project at the moment and need to find out about the quantity of materials that are wasted in the Irish construction industry. I would also like to find out what happens to the waste materials, and who is doing something about improving the situation.

It would really help me out if anybody can point me to any web sites or publications that deal with this sort of thing. Many thanks.

Rockbeer, sorry for the delay with this. Check out this websit. www.whatdoidoaboutthis.com. They arrange to buy and sell what previously would have been considered waste. The products are used and/or re-cycled.

Would it not be obvious to contact the leading Waste Management (most also processing/re-cycling) companies. All the leading vendors provide annualised certificates confirming recycling levels for various materials, some are as high as 85+%, and i'm sure the data on volumes etc could be easily determined.

As a matter of interest did someone give you an assignment, because it strikes me as a simple piece of research and the data sources are quite obvious.

Here's a tip, do a lttle bit of secondary research (you know internet, library, CIF, DOE etc etc), ie show some intitative before some pestering primary research. We get similar requests from students who haven't done a tap and yet come with a 100 Q's. Usually give them a PFO.

No excuses, hope you take the tips on board.
