Astec Alarm 77 Call engineer???

Does anyone have any experience with Astec Alarms? We've had this lovely little message displaying on our alarm for a while now. Needless to say the user manual doesn't reference this in any way shape or form and I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do myself without having to call out an engineer? Does anyone even know what error code 77 means?
    Thanks!

I remember doing some work on these in the past (1993!) - 77 is a generic code meaning call engineer, and can be caused by a tamper switch on the detectors becoming open, or the alarm box being opened. There are other reasons, but these are the main ones.
So, you either need to call an engineer to fix it, or get the engineer code from the installer (They won't give you theirs, but you could ask them to reset it for you to a generic one) if you want to troubleshoot it youself.

That is not correct. Call engineer 77 is simply a service interval recommending that that system is due a service. It is NOT caused by any fault on the system & it is safe to continue using the system as normal.

I'm sorry about that. Maybe I was confusing 'EE' on the panel.
    Thanks for the clarification.

code 77 is a service call interval programmed in by engineer to remind you that a service is due. you need engineer code to enter system to reset and to remove service reminder for good

    oakley1973,

your comment has been removed and there is a one week restriction for you posting on this forum again, I understand that you are new to boards, but dragging up a 6 or 7 year old thread, and the fact that the comment was abusive combined to earn you the ban.
