Both in the SE on Friday night

    Hand 1.

    Stacks:
    Me 160
    UTG+1 c250
    MP c250
    LP Covers

    I have 9h7h. No reads.
UTG+1 raises to 7, 2 calls and I call in the BB.

    Flop:
    9c 7s 6s

I check, i might lead here but i see utg+1 is about to bet, he leads for 20. MP calls, LP makes it 50, I?

    Hand 2:
Have been at the table a while. I would be regarded as tightish and not very aggressive.

    Me UTG+1 AKo 300
UTG+2 300. Loose. Likes to see flops.
MP 80. A bit fishy. Is in deep at this stage (maybe for 400-500)
Button c500 very tight by SE standards. Seems decent.

I raise it to 7. Obligatory 4 callers.

    Flop K 6 3 two to one

    I bet 30.

UTG+2 calls. I feel he has a draw as he has been calling his draws and betting his big hands enthusiastically all night. I have seen him call bets with gutshots.

MP goes all in for 75. He's a bit tilty and his range is wide, including draws and worse 1 pair hands

LP rock calls. Hmm. I have no idea what he has.

    I?

Hand 1 given your check you have to push. No other option is even remotely feasible. You only have 80bbs.

Hand 2 The rock is who you need to be concerned with. If he likely to have 45 or KQ here and may call with them then push. If he is more than likely to have a set, or to have KQ but fold it then just call and probably fold to any serious further action.

    hand 1 80bb deep+drawy board= shove.

    hand 2 call re-evaluate turn.

    hand 1 easy shove.

hand 2 you really need to be limp/reraising from this spot in this game. It doesnt matter if it turns your hand face up - villians in this game will generally not consider the implications of your actions. It would help if you could tell me who the villians are in hand 2. But I think I call and revalute on turn. He can have KQ/KJ here as often as he may have a set and on that basis I may struggle to get away from it.

It would help if you could tell me who the villians are in hand 2.

I don't know him - he was in his twenties, kinda tanned. He was also sober, that should distinguish him from most of the people in the SE of a friday night

To describe how tight he was he earlier folded a set on the turn of a non-flushing, non-straighting board(his opponent turned out to have a higher set)

To desribe how tight he was he earlier folded a set on the turn of a non flushed, non-straighting board(his opponent turned out to have a higher set)

    hand 1 - push.

    1. push!
    2. I'd call and probably fold to any serious action from the tight guy.

I'd would never limp reraise btw.

Hand 1: Seems like an odd thing to say but not a great flop for you. If playing on, shove, but I might even consider folding in this spot. Flat call is a non - runner.

Hand 2: Shove. Your AK is good here I feel.

I'd would never limp reraise btw.

In this game I am beginning to think that it is a mistake not to in this situation.
    Shove

why? If your AK is good then tight rock is probably drawing to 3 outs - why do you want him out of the pot?

    what about UTG +2?

In this game I am beginning to think that it is a mistake not to in this situation.

I think you're probably right about that.

    Results:

    1. I didn't like the board and in particular the small raise on it too much alright. Then I remembered I was in the SE and shoved. Fold, fold, call with flush draw and MHWG

    2. At the time I thought I really don't like calling here, as the guy to my left would get a very cheap draw, and even on the turn I wouldn't know where I'd be as I'm OOP. So I folded.

In retrospect I probably should have shoved. Why would the rock flat call with a set (I think he never has 2 pair) and give the guy to my left a chance to draw for cheap?

Rags fell on turn and river, guy to my left had 45o, shorty took it down with K8o and the rock mucked, I guess some kinda big draw.
