To me it comes from the kenneth anger style of film as experience and initiation. The ultimate meaning is of course up to your own personal interpretation. Every image and scene has a large amount of depth as far as symbolism and allegory. In my view it's a kabballa and tarot infused look at all facets of humanity and the occult mechanics of transcendence. The ending is perfect.
