Setting Wii up online

    So ive finally managed to get access to broadband and want to set my Wii up, its a high speed LAN connection. As far as i can make out i need a wired router and a LAN adaptor for the Wii, is this correct? I appreciate any help

    Yup, that's what is need if you only have a wired connection.

    Wireless is just Search -> Connect -> Online!

    Wired is adapter in USB port -> Ethernet cable from adapter to router -> Search -> Connect -> Online! (Hopefully)

    I eventually got my wii internet working. Its been conecting to the shop channel for about an hour. The off button and reset button arent working. I'm affraid to turn off the power from the socket.

    Any suggestions?

    happens me too actually and when i connected mine first what i did was press the off button on the console with youre finger for a couple of seconds untill it turns off which is what i do

    ya only first got my wii online 2 days ago
    it was stuck going into the shop channel
    i plugged it out then tried it again and it came up straight away
    too bad i was too late to get the internet channel for free

    no problem because its stupid that it wont go to the home menu whenyou are waiting on it to load and it wont stop loading either i think it only happens when youre ineternets slow too

    Have had mine working wirelessly since Christmas, but yesterday it refused to connect. I tried searching for a wireless connections and could pick up my neighbours but not mine.

    It's strange but my laptop connects to my wireless router no probllem.

    Does anybody have any ideas?

    plug out your router and give it a min then plug it back in
    sounds stupid but usually works

    Tried that but no joy. I think the problem maybe that recently I moved the router quite close to the Wii and I think this is why there's a problem picking it up.

    But since my router now virtually sits beside my Wii I decided to buy a LAN adapter and use a wired connection. Works quite well.
